Posted on 08/28/2023

Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s) of Robert Bateman Student(s);

Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year at Robert Bateman Public School.  My name is Jeff Griesbach (Mr. G) and this is my 3rd year serving the Robert Bateman School community as Principal. I am also pleased to welcome Ms Darla Fuller to Robert Bateman as Vice-Principal. We hope that you all had a safe and relaxing summer, and that your child(ren) are excited and ready to return to school on Tuesday, September 5. (Please note that all students, including Year 1 and Year 2 Kindergarten, will start on September 5.)

NEW STAFF: As our Robert Bateman community continues to grow with the addition of new families from the Findlay Creek community, we are pleased to welcome new additions to the RBPS staff team. Ms Darla Fuller joins the RBPS team as Vice-Principal.  In the Blue Kindergarten class, we welcome Mme Valerie Pinkham and Ms Virginia Penner as the French and English teachers, with Ms Alicia Finnigian as PM ECE in Blue. In Green, we welcome Ms Wamidh Abbas as PM ECE.

Ms Dana Campbell is our new Grade 2 English homeroom teacher, and Ms Khadijah Holloway joins us for the year as our Grade 3/4 English homeroom teacher. M. Michael Maydu is our new Junior Core French teacher. In our EFI program, we welcome Mme Selena Coupland as our Gr. 3/4 homeroom teacher, and Ms Kaley Kettle as our Gr 3/4 ETFI teacher. In our PSN program, we welcome Ms Izabela Aurelson as homeroom teacher, Ms Kathy Thomas as Educational Assistant, and Ms Suzie Rozon as term Educational Assistant. Mr Jared Scrivin also joins the RBPS team as Educational Assistant in the regular program.  The next Bateman Bobcat Banner  will include a full staff list, with teaching assignments.

CLASS ASSIGNMENTS: On Thursday, August 31, we will send an email to all families with information on child(ren)’s class assignment and teacher for the 2023- 2024 school year. On Friday, September 2, teachers will reach out via email to parents/guardians of students in their class.

School Supplies: The OCDSB has developed a common list of recommended personal use items for students. This list of supplies is voluntary;  it is a parent’s / guardian’s choice to send the following items for use by their child for the first day of school in September. We value and appreciate any items parents/guardians are able to send.
