In-Person Breakfast Program Returns to RBPS
The in-person breakfast program is returning, it provides a nutritious breakfast for students and will start on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022. Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in the small gym. Typical menus may include fresh fruit, cereal, juice, toast, jam, cheese, pancakes, milk and other dairy products. Research has shown that children who eat a good breakfast are better equipped to learn and to focus.
This program is funded through donations of food and money by organizations in the Robert Bateman PS community and surrounding area. Students will not be charged for their breakfast; however, donations from families are accepted to help cover the costs associated with running this program. Please note that any donations made by families are anonymous, and will not be tracked or recorded.
If you would like your child to participate in the Breakfast Program, please complete this google form. If you have questions, please reply to this email, or call the school at 613-737-3169.
The Breakfast Program also needs volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please provide your name and contact information within the google form.
Pizza Days at RBPS
Our RBPS School Council will once again be running Pizza Days for students. Every Wednesday for 16 weeks - from Oct 26 to Feb 22 - School Council volunteers will serve cheese or pepperoni pizza to participating students in Kindergarten - Grade 6. The cost for one slice of pizza for 16 weeks is $40. Payment is online through SchoolCashOnline only. The deadline to order is Sunday October 23; no late orders will be accepted. There will be no refunds unless the school is closed for that day. If your child is absent, their order will only be available for pick up at the school, or if you call the school in the morning before 10am to request that it be put aside.
In addition, the RBPS School Council is looking for volunteers to help on a one-time or regular basis. If you have 45 minutes to help distribute the pizza on Wednesdays, please email [email protected] with your contact information.
Halloween at RBPS (Monday, October 31)
On Monday, October 31, students in Kindergarten - Grade 6 are invited to wear costumes, dress in orange-and-black, or dress as they normally would. Most classes will continue with their regular routines in the morning, with some special events in the afternoon: you may receive additional information from your child(ren)’s classroom teacher(s) in the weeks ahead.
Please note that, props and other items that might accompany a costume are discouraged, and as always, prop weapons are prohibited at school.
